Introducing Bridget and Steve Isle

We are very proud parents of six (Brady bunch, 3 & 3), now grown children and nine grandchildren ranging from 1 to 20 years old as well as our ‘kids’ now living with us: Lucy (Jack Russell), Blue, Logan (Australian Shepherds), and our “Monster” Midge (a small gray cat).

We own a horse ranch in Wilton, CA, (southeast of Sacramento, just west of Rancho Murieta), where we’ve stood American Quarter Horse (AQHA), stallion, “Teddy Tucker” and now his son, “Isle Chex My Tucker,” while breeding, raising, training and showing performance quarter horses. We were once up to 60 horses. We specialize in reining and working cow horse events. Our primary trainers are George and Deanna Texeira (http://www.islesquarterhorses.com).

To finance family, horses and trips to Colorado, Steve pursued a career as a military flight instructor (flying both rotary and fixed wing aircraft- >11,000 military flying hours), and Bridget worked as a correctional officer for the State of California at Mule Creek State Prison. Steve still works part time out of the home as the Domestic Government Manager for a compressed air foam fire extinguisher manufacturer (http://www.trimax.us).

We found Arrowhead through Bill and Nancy Ignatow, when we began staying with them at their home on Ponderosa during the annual Fall hunting seasons beginning in the mid 1990’s. They researched every possible place to live in Colorado and chose Arrowhead for its natural beauty, readily accessible areas to fish and hunt, and every bit as important, the very special people who make up this demographic.

By 2005 we knew we wanted to follow their lead and began looking for a lot. We purchased our lot on Spruce in January 2006 and by a particularly favorable twist of fate, Pete Nauyokas was building for us by July of that year. We now own the lot next door which provides more green area and space as needed for overflow when visited by family and friends.

Our friends up here are like family and our plan is to enthusiastically celebrate the joys of life with family and friends as Arrowhead residents. We will still make trips to California to visit family and check up on the ranch. Our family all live in Northern California.

We plan to bring a couple of horses to Arrowhead for the summer so we can also enjoy this beautiful country on horseback in addition to our hiking, hunting and fishing forays with family and friends. We are very happy to be here and consider Arrowhead and our neighbors about as close to heaven as we’ll find on this earth…truly God’s Country!
