Meet Brent and Alison Mims

We are probably best known for being some of the youngest residents in Arrowhead. Wonderful neighbors and our love of the outdoors make this community a perfect fit. We were both raised in Colorado, Brent in Paonia and Alison in Evergreen, so Colorado has always felt like home. Arrowhead holds a special place for us in that we were married here and continue to be year round residents.

We met at, and continue to work for, the National Park Service areas of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and Curecanti National Recreation Area. As lead climbing ranger and search and rescue coordinator, Brent leads a highly-skilled search and rescue team, instructs national technical rescue courses, and responds to emergency medical calls in the backcountry. He also gets to spend significant portions of the summer fighting fires on engines, helicopters, and line crews. In the winter, Brent enjoys the few days he is able to ski patrol at Powderhorn Resort. Alison began at the parks as a paleontological technician and has since put her graduate work in filmmaking to use as a visual information specialist. However, she still likes to talk about local fossils when she gets the chance! Adding her contribution to the rescue efforts at the parks, Alison is a member of the Curecanti Search and Rescue Scuba Dive Team. It's great to be able to live and work in the beautifully rugged landscape of western Colorado.

When we're not working we like to backpack, rock climb, ski, and spend time with our beloved cats and dogs.
