Volunteers Welcomed for AVDF Positions

The Arrowhead Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) prides itself in providing a professional response to emergencies within the Arrowhead Fire Protection District. Beyond providing this service, the AVFD also preplans for community-wide emergency incidents, provides educational outreach on public safety topics, coordinates the Fourth of July Picnic, and supports the AIA forest manager on projects that will lower or maintain the current fire danger at Arrowhead. The ability to perform these services can be solely credited to community members, who volunteer their time.

The AVFD welcomes all community members at all trainings, meetings and events. Please feel free to attend training to see the capabilities of your fire department or a meeting to see what the fire department has planned and to meet the folks who are involved with the fire department.

The AVFD is seeking volunteers to fill the following positions:

AVFD Secretary – The primary responsibilities of the secretary are taking minutes at the AVFD monthly business meetings, compiling the minutes into typed format, maintaining fire department records, mail, etc.

AVFD Merchandise Coordinator - The availability of all of the Arrowhead shirts, hats, jackets, etc. is coordinated through the AVFD. Prior to the development of the Arrowhead Fire Protection District, this was an important source of funding for the fire department. Currently the fire department is primarily tax base funded but the fire department feels these items are a display of community pride and would like to continue to make them available to the community. Martha Tuthill has managed these items for several years and is in need of a well-deserved break. Martha is willing to continue with procurement of the items but the AVFD is in need of a merchandise coordinator who will be responsible for items sales and inventory.

If you are interested in either of these positions please contact:
